Doxing for Beginners Tutorial

To learn how to dox someone you must first learn what doxing is.

According to http://www.urbandictionary.com doxing is defined by "A technique of tracing someone or gather information about an individual using sources on the internet. Its name is derived from �Documents� or �Docx�. Doxing method is based purely on the ability of the hacker to recognize valuable information about his target and use this information to his benefit. It is also based around the idea that, �The more you know about your target, the easier it will be to find his or her flaws� " A target can be doxed by as simply as looking up their online alias/username you know them by to see if that is their username for some sort of social media (revealing more info), or could be something more tedious such as reading all of a targets comments on photos to see if they spill any personal info such as a phone number which could be linked to a home address. Doxing is a very wide term and there is no specific technique or tactic to be used, all it is is gathering as much info as possible on a target for whatever the reason.

In this thread I will be explaining 3 basic methods to dox someone based on what information you have on them. There are many other methods you can do just using common sense that I will not explain.

?IP Doxing?

IP doxing is the act of finding a victims IP, which can be linked to their address or at least general location or as a way to launch a denial-of-service attack (DoS/DDoS) upon them, thus taking their internet connection offline. To find the targets IP you will need to use an online resolver, or a program such as Cain and Abel which can track target IPs directly connected to you or a console of yours (Cain and Abel will not work if you and the target are connected to each other via a dedicated server). There are many websites out there that allow you to resolve someones Skype username into an IP, but I personally recommend using this one HERE. With that site all you have to do is input the targets Skype username and it will output their IP, and if you arent sure if the target has Skype or you dont know their username you can always just input an email and the site will check to see if that email is connected to a Skype username. Another method of getting a targets IP is sending them an IP logger link (find one here http://blasze.tk/) when they click the link you can go back to that site and see their IP address. After acquiring the targets IP you can go to an IP-to-geolocation site (such as this one HERE) that will relatively accurately tell you the IPs ISP, city, and state! This data can be used to combine with things like names so you arent searching for lets say "John Smith" across the entire earth, but looking for "John Smith" in Dallas, Texas. This can make yielding even more information about a victim MUCH easier.

?Name, Address, Phone + Reverses?

Now we get on to the method that acquires the deep, dirty information. Remember how I told you having their location would help in giving more information? Well here it is. By far the best dox website/tool is HERE. This site lets you make searches to find info on people if you know their name, location, business, phone, or address. Whitepages can give you exact addresses of where the victim is living and where they have previously lived, which is one of the most important pieces of information you can acquire by doxing someone. All you have to do with this site is input someones name and general location, then BAM! you could have access to their address, phone number, relatives etc.

?Reverse Image Search?

This is a fairly simple method that can reveal things like a victims social media accounts, friends/family/work/school, all by searching the internet with the website HERE to see if the selected photo was posted somewhere else. This can reveal acquaintances of the victims information, by checking if they reposted/retweeted the same picture as the one selected. All you have to do is save a selected image of the victim and upload it to http://www.tineye.com to see if they have posted it on other accounts, or acquaintances of theirs have posted the same picture.
